The March for Science champions robustly funded and publicly communicated science as a pillar of human freedom and prosperity. We unite as a diverse, nonpartisan group to call for science that upholds the common good, and for political leaders and policymakers to enact responsible evidence-based policies in the public interest.

Rochester March for Science is a satellite march in support of the March for Science in Washington, D.C. on the same day. Please visit the informative nation organization's website to learn about the national mission and diversity principles.

We fully support and adhere to all of the national organization's statements and policies, and have also developed our own:  Click here for  Rochester March for Science goals and principles

Rally:

Science enthusiasts! Gather together! 9:30am @ Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park at Manhattan Square.

March:

After speakers have completed their remarks, approximately 10:30am, we will march to the Hyatt Regency. You are free to walk at your own pace. (The march end time of noon is given only as an approximation.)

Expo:

The Rochester March for Science organizing committee hosts the first Rochester Science Expo in a ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Rochester. The start time given is an approximation -  feel free to arrive whenever you're able. There will be a number of displays and speakers celebrating science and innovation in Rochester, encouraging the discovery of the scientist in each individual, and urging responsible use of scientific data in policy making. Presenters will include, but are not limited to, high school students, university undergraduate and graduate researchers, career scientists, and representatives from local science and technology industries. A list of presenters will be forthcoming.

Even if you are not planning on marching, please consider attending our expo. The event will have an open house feel: you will no doubt be engaged for as long as you are there, and there will be activities and speakers geared toward every age and background.

If you plan on attending the expo, please RSVP to our facebook event. This is not mandatory but it will help the organizing committee plan the expo more effectively.
